Update on Hubby, AC and Slow Stitching Sunday

First of all, hubby saw the doctor (shoulder) that ordered the MRI on his back. He has to see a spine doctor. Waiting for WC to approve the visits. Doc wants him to see one that is surgical and one that isn't.

AC is fixed, $175 ugh. But at least it is cool in here again. Had a freon leak.

This is row 4 of Scott's quilt. Have one more block to quilt and add to this row and then 4 more blocks for row 5, bind and label and it will be done!

Off to finish getting the house and yard ready for our youngest grandson's second birthday party!

Check out Kathy's Quilts for more slow stitching Sunday blog photos.

Slow Stitching Sunday - Still plugging away

I am still hand quilting on grandson's quilt. I have reached the middle and a little more now. I was concerned that the quilting I had done in the hoop in the center would need to be redone when I reached it in the frame, but it is great! So onward to the end! Maybe, just maybe I will finish before his birthday!

Here is a link to some other slow stitching Sunday posts! enjoy! thanks Kathy!

Spring Bouquet Completed!

Well except for the label which I will do tomorrow.

I finished it yesterday but forgot to have hubby take pictures. I am not tall enough to get good pictures so he does them for me.

Here they are. We are taking her to supper Saturday night for her birthday and I can't wait to see her face as she has no idea I am making it for her.

Here are the pictures.

Noah's Ark

Here is the baby quilt I did for a lady where hubby works.

Bear Heads

Here is a baby quilt that I made for someone at hubby’s office.

Care Bears

These were two simple quilts I worked on this week for a friend of Leslie’s little girl.

The first quilt I ever made!

Sorry I can’t make the picture bigger or clearer. This quilt is for my youngest daughter Kaci. I started it many years ago and worked on it for quite a while. We found a kit of precut triangles that she liked the colors but not the pattern they had it in. Was sorta supposed to be a pinwheel. So I sewed all the triangles together and then made a kinda around the world, though at the time I had no clue that was what it was called lol. There are about 400 squares in this quilt made up of triangles. I hand quilted hearts in each of those blocks. It seemed like it took forever lol. I learned alot from doing this quilt though. And she really likes it so it was worth all the problems of putting those triangles together.
Just remember if my first quilt could be made from all triangles, you can do anything if you try !

Quilt for Cindy

Made this quilt for a girl who works with my oldest daughter Keri. She has terminal cancer :-(.  Will bring it to her when she is having a good day.

I used Pieces 0' Cake design (free) called Simply Color and changed the borders. I quilted it as I went using an old method I use to use. I hope she likes it and that it gives her comfort.

Myrtle the Turtle

This is a baby quilt I just did for some friends having a baby. Isn't the pattern adorable? I hand appliqued and hand quilted this in about two and a half weeks. Very quick easy pattern.   Hope they like it, we are giving it to them tonight lol. If you double click the picture it will be bigger.

Her First Quilt!!!!!

This is my 11 year old granddaughter Alexis and the first quilt she has ever made! She is giving it to a teacher who had a baby right before the holidays and will present it on Monday. I am so proud of her and the job she did (with a little help from Nana).

Dancing Flowers Quilt

I started this and did the top in 2006. Put the top on my (new then) floor hand quilting frame, did about 2-4 inches of quilting and then put the whole thing away till last week. Finished up the top, love the frame, and now it is happy hanging on my wall finally.
