My son's dog had to be put to sleep this morning. She was 14 years old. He has had her since she was born. He had her since he was 8 years old. They grew up together. She will be very missed.
We just lost our cat this past fall, and a cat before that in 2009. We still get teary eyed at times thinking of things that they would do. I'm sorry for your family losing a pet, and Kathie is right that your pet is a family member.
